General FAQs

  • We’re a one-concept studio, which means we channel our energy into a single design that best fits the brief. You’ll get 2-3 rounds of refinements to make sure it’s just right too.

With the use of our proven strategic design methods, we craft and develop something incredibly distinctive (and incredibly impressive) to share.

  • Yes! We understand that working with a designer to uplevel your business can be quite an investment and we are passionate about helping everyone reach their potential and have a brand that blooms.

Our Design Days require upfront payment in full to secure your half or full day of VIP design with us.

For everything else, the payment schedule is typically broken down into 4 x 25% payments spaced along the project timeline. This option works best for packages that require longer timelines but we are open to discussing other options.

  • Your brand is more than your logo. Branding will allow you to reach your goals, connect with your audience and set you apart from the crowd. For this reason, we don’t take on logo projects. You will need brand colours, typography and consistency across all customer touchpoints from your website, and social media to a business card to build trust and brand recognition at a minimum. If you are in need of a more cost-effective option please visit our online store, BRANDS by BOBBY.

  • We only take on a handful of custom project design clients each year. And for that reason, we are typically booked out a couple of months in advance. If you have been thinking of working with us, reach out as soon as you can to secure your spot! Keeping in mind most projects can take 2-3 months to complete.

  • Yes, please! We need to be provided with all content before we get stuck into any project. For example, creating your website. It makes it tricky to design a website without all the elements. Much like trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle without all the pieces. It slows the process down and can result in a website that doesn’t quite flow.

Strategy & Identity
FAQs

  • A marketing strategy is a short term plan that focuses on sales and revenue. It specifies key areas to achieve these goals.

Your brand design is only as strong as your brand strategy. Brand strategy is a long term plan to achieve sustainable growth and success in your business, and be able to connect with your ideal audience effectively. It encompasses what your brand is, the purpose and goals, and drives the messaging, tone, and personality. A well-defined brand strategy will serve to create consistency and therefore brand awareness. The strategy drives the visual direction of the brand.

We offer an implementation guide as an add on to our packages if you need a hand getting the most out of your new strategy and how to execute it effectively.

Think of it like what your brand guidelines are to your visual identity.

  • We certainly can! If you have an existing logo or visual identity that you don’t totally despise or you feel is outdated, or want to evolve, we offer brand re-fresh packages. We are able to evolve your brand by modernising your logo, usually providing you with more than one logotype, in different brand colours whilst updating the colour palette and/or selecting new fonts etc.

  • All good design starts with strategy. If you aren’t looking for growth, to differentiate, or to stand out in a sea of sameness, you don’t need a brand strategy. But if you are wanting to feel clarity, confidence, and alignment with your brand, brand strategy is for you. We will consider working on your project if you have had a strategy done elsewhere, recently and of the standard to work with. If you book in Brand Strategy and a Brand Identity package with us we chuck in a handful of goodies, not usually provided to clients to really get your brand out there and ready to bloom!

  • Not necessarily. Our goal is that you see a return on investment. For this reason, we recommend a custom design to those that have been in business for at least 1 year. We do however have our store BRANDS by BOBBY. Our premade (and equally as nice) logo and branding solutions for ambitious businesses on a budget.

Packaging FAQs

  • We do not offer printing services in-house however we can assist with all of your print requirements, recommend printers/suppliers and help with the technical terms when asking for quotes. This is complimentary as part of any design service you have with us.

  • A dieline is the outline/shape of packaging if it were completely disassembled and laid flat. Dielines look this way because the packaging is often printed completely flat and then assembled later.

  • No, you do necessarily need a dieline at the beginning of a packaging design project – it can and often does come later. If working without a dieline, knowing your general format (box, bottle, tetrapak) and providing general dimensions, materials, and goals will help your design partner create the best solution and generate mockups. The benefit of having a dieline at kickoff is it will save time and money down the road on production updates to art.

Retainer FAQs

  • When you start with us, you’ll get your very own Graphic Designer and Project Manager. Our Creative Director, Hayley will also be available to you and overseeing, as well as working on, your projects throughout the retainer period.

  • We understand things change. Please provide at least one month’s written notice, and note that a fee (based on which package you choose) will be required to cover lost costs. For unforeseen personal circumstances, we can waive the fee.

  • We take on a limited number of retainer clients and are usually booked a few months in advance. If you’re interested, reach out soon to secure your spot!

  • For smaller tasks, such as a couple of social media posts, an image resize, or adding copy to your website, we can provide an hourly quote at our full rate of $120/hr. Packaging design, which involves many variables, is also typically charged hourly.

  • Ideally, yes! Having all your content ready helps us work smoothly. For larger projects, two weeks’ notice is great, but if that’s not possible, we’ll do our best to accommodate quick turnarounds.

Clear communication is key. We need a brief and all content upfront to start your project. Missing pieces can slow us down and may delay your work.

We’ve been doing this for over a decade, so if you need guidance on what to provide, we’re here to help!

  • We’re now your in-house design team! Your designer and project manager will collaborate on your tasks, using creative research and conceptualisation to bring your vision to life. We work independently throughout the day, and then it’s your turn to provide feedback to perfect the results.

  • It depends on the tasks and your approach. With clear branding guidelines and assets, we can accomplish a lot quickly. If you need something unique, it might take a bit longer as we explore new ideas. Either way, we’ll make a significant impact on your to-do list. This is our expertise, and we’re pretty efficient at it!
